Hi everyone! I'm Ms. Obate and I'm the choir director at Blocker Middle School. I was born in the Philippines and lived in California and Massachusetts before moving to Texas in 2007. I graduated from the University of Houston in May '22 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. I am so excited for this upcoming school year!

In Summer 2022, I competed in the Grieg International Choir Festival in Bergen, Norway with UH's Concert Chorale. We placed third in the sacred category, first in the mixed category, and advanced to the Grand Prix round! I made so many amazing memories and friends :)Â
